Inception is Making Money: Grosses of $251M After Two Weeks in Theaters

Inception, the summer movie to see more than once, grosses $251,539,000  after being in theaters since two weeks. $165 million were brought in nationwide, while $85 Million were earned in other countries. Distributed by Warner Bros., Inception was released on July 16, 2010. You can watch the Inception Trailer here.

The production budget of this Sci-Fi Action movie was about $160 million. Inception has a run-time: 2 hrs. 28 min and is rated PG-13 for sequences of violence and action throughout. The gross of $251 million adds up to a profit of $91 million, which is not bad after only two weeks. The figures are based on data released by boxofficemojo.com.

The main character of this movie, which was written, directed and produced by Christopher Nolan, is played by Leonardo DiCaprio. Co-producer of Inception was Emma Thomas.

The actors are: Ken Watanabe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Tom Berenger, Michael Caine and  Lukas Haas.

The New York Times writes, that Inception exceeded the box-office dreams. Inception grossed over $60 million in it’s first week and with that topped the highly successful Titanic movie which put Leonardo DiCaprio on the map. Titanic made $38 million in its first week and grossed over $1.8 billion total and with that was one of the highest grossing movies ever. Titanic was only surpassed by Avatar with $2.7 billion.
