Inception Movie Poster

I am going to be bold and handicap next year’s Oscar, at least in the writing category, by predicting that the Inception’s screen play will be nominated. I say this because the writer took the relatively difficult subject matter of psychology and made it so that the lay person could understand in a movie setting – it’s akin to the math teacher, who everyone took in high school, because he or she had the unique ability to make it fun and manageable for those of us who hated anything to do with math.

Inception is an excellent movie, directed by Christopher Nolan, and has among the stars, Leonardo DiCaprio – whose character has a God-like gift in the movie – Joseph Gordon Levitt, and Ellen Page. Inception is a movie about love, which takes place in the subconscious and in a world of virtual reality. This virtual reality (Inception) is like a new drug and it could be used for Corporate Espionage. This Inception also can be as addictive as Heroin, at least to the main character, played by DiCaprio. When we are first introduced to the players, our main character, DiCaprio, is on the lamb, unable to see his children and wife, who reside in the states, save for via his dreams.

Like in life, someone comes and offers DiCaprio another tasteful bite of the forbidden apple, (to see his children), if he goes on one last seemingly, impossible mission. The person who offers DiCaprio the mission entices DiCaprio by telling him that there is this juggernaut of a corporation (think Wal-Mart), which is buying up everything, and that, his company is the only one left to thwart this juggernaut corporation’s monopolistic aims. DiCaprio gathers a team, including Page, whose gift dwarfs that of DiCaprio’s. At this time during this part of the movie, one has to pause because it’s like seeing Darth Vader genuflecting and calling someone else master – so if DiCaprio is that powerful, then you are left pondering how powerful the character played by Page must be.

From the outset of the movie, you know what it is that will throw the “monkey wrench” into DiCaprio’s plan, yet you are still yearning and salivating for it to happen. It’s that cautionary tale, where perfection cannot be had in this mortal coil, and even when you are bequeathed with God-like gifts, while in the flesh, there are those wondrous human frailties like love, which will be the proverbial “fly in the ointment.”

The action scenes are well done and it is hard to imagine that Joseph Gordon Levitt, the former child actor, is the action hero, like the Neo character of the “Matrix” without the monotone Zen couplets. I do not know when Brando, Washington, or De Niro became master thespians, but add DiCaprio to the ranks; he brings to life the Inception’s love story riddled with human weakness like the Biblical David/Bathsheba, Solomon/Egyptian wife, and Paris’ love for Helen of Troy. All those men had “life” in their respective palms of their hands only to pay huge prices for their love.

The only negative critique I have for “Inception” is that… it is a bit cerebral and that if you tell us that the monopolistic corporation is the largest in the world, why is it that the sole heir and CEO is traveling on a commercial airline… making it easy so that he can be had and be vulnerable to DiCaprio’s team, who wants him for the Inception process?

At the end of Inception, DiCaprio, like the prodigal father, is reunited with his children, but we see an “item” spinning like a top – and you almost want to ask: “Is this another “kick”? Those who see Inception will know what I am speaking of. Incidentally, the difference between Avatar and Inception is the latters brilliant script working in seamless tandem with Matrix-like special effects.

Here is the Inception Trailer:

While the Inception Trailer is very nice, it does not replace actually watching the movie. And even if you have seen it, you might still be wondering whether it was true or not… really fascinating movie.

I’m impressed, I have to say. Really not often do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you will have hit the nail on the head. Your thought is outstanding; the issue is one thing that not sufficient people are speaking intelligently about. I’m very blissful that I stumbled across this in my search for one thing referring to this.

Hello! Quick question that’s entirely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My blog looks weird when viewing from my iphone 4. I’m trying to find a template or plugin that might be able to correct this problem. If you have any recommendations, please share. Thanks!
