Jacksonville State Beats Ole Miss Unexpectedly in Double Overtime

The South Eastern Conference (SEC) has been stirred up right out of the gate: Jacksonville State beats Ole Miss unexpectedly in double overtime and takes home a 49-48 victory over Houston Nutt’s team.

The Gamecocks from Jacksonville are not really the stars of the SEC with 29.5 points. It came a little surprising when Coty Blanchard hit Kevyn Cooper from 30 yards out for the final score.

Ole Miss was leading 31-10 at halftime. The overtime came unexpected and Jacksonville’s victory was definitely not planned for by the Miss’s. From the end of the third quarter on nothing could stop Jacksonville State: It went drive – points, drive – points, drive – points and each touchdown drive towards the end of the game was more than 59 yards.
